Default 08 UC question

I have an 08 UC and after much research here have decided to go the following route:

-SE slip ons
-HD air filter
-re-map the FI to match the above......not going to get a SERT/PC, just re-map.........

I just am past thecustom exhausts/noiseI have had on all my other HD's over the years and have decided to go quiet and am really happy with the stock power/heat issue (altho I am hoping to increase the power a bit and reduce the heat a bit...if this does not happen I am fine with it)..............I put about 20K per yr on a bike.......

Question: Has anyone done this to their UC or similar model??? What have the results been???

Thanks.......Steve

I'm like you.
I have an 08 Road King Classic and wanted a quieter ride.
I installed the SE air cleaner and 80491-07 SE touring slip ons. I did go ahead and buy a SERT and had the dealer do a download to get me going until I dyno my bike at 1000 miles. The dealer did the download for free. I am not sure the download they did off my SERT would be what you could expect from the HD download. I suspect it would be about the same.
I am very pleased with the set up and wouldn't change a thing. These slip ons are perfect for me, I woudn't want them any louder as I find they are already sounding deeper at 700 miles. I do get an occasional pop on decel, but I admit it is infrequent. I have been extremely pleased with my dealerships dyno tuning in the past, and I expect things to be even better once I have that done.
I'm at the age where I want to enjoy my ride and not have my ears ringing after 100 miles. I was somewhat concerned that my bike wouldn't sound like a "Harley" but I assure you it will sound just right[sm=exactly.gif]
Even without a dyno tune I am getting 40 mpg and the engine has great torque and pull.
I can't wait to get it Dyno'd and see what improvement that makes!
Go for it!

I've got 08 Ultra, put Vance & Hines dresser duals Screamin Eagle touring slip ons and Screamin Eagle breather, instead of the race tuner I went to an independant guy in Dallas, used dyna link software and dyno'd the beast out (true race tune) made 62.3 HP to 74.3hp made 82 ft/lbs torque to 98.2ft/lbs, made the throttle WAY more responsive, made most heat go away, it's throaty but not loud, and not a ping nor stutter to be found at any power band, it was way cool to watch my scooter go to 6200 rpms first thru sixth and bury the spedo at 120. All that for less than half of what the shop would have cost me and double the performance!

Congratulations. That's the highest torque I've seen on multiple sights for a stage 1 96". Thought I was doing good at 89.

Yep, a really good combination. I had the #64985 Street Performance Touring Mufflers with SE Stage 1 Intake and Stage 1 Download on my '07 Road Kingand was very pleased. I'm thinking of a similar setup on my '08 Road Glide. Good performance enhancement, great deep (but not loud) exhaust tone, and the download worked very well. Highly recommended!
