Default Point Of Know Return?

A lot of us have spent considerable money modifying our scoots & then some wind uptrading in on new models. Then they gotta start over again w/the mods?? Cha-CHING!!! I realize that the draw to a new bike can be very strong, butthere's gotta bea point where a guy simply can't afford to trade. I mean, ya can't take off everything (internals etc) that's been added. I know I've reached the point where a trade isn't an option. Besides,a Baker 6 speed & an HQ build will be cheaper than a trade. Anyone else here in the same boat?

Yep!
Once this 06 EGC is done it won't be traded.
But new bike will probably not be an HD. Probably a custom from off shelf parts.

I see your point. Remembering that a new bike (or used one new to an individual) is only a starter kit, sometimes the new bike is just an empty canvas. You get to start all over again!!

Just have to ask, what am I gaining?

88 vs 96
5seed vs 6 speed

These bikes truly are all the same and if your content ,just keep adding more. You can add so much bling or horsepower to your current ride and still not offset the price of a new bike out the door.

BTW, a new bike still needs add ons. Your just starting with an expensive clean slate.

Here's the great thing about a Harley.....they don't change much to look at. I have a friend who rides a '99 electra glide. He has had the time to do a lot work to it. My '07 glide looks sick when it's next to his. No reason for him to want anything else.

Yep, I'm good for a loooooooong time. HD would have to completely revamp the design of an FL in orderfor me to consider buying another. I'll just fix this one the way it should have come from the factory for the amount of coin I paid. Ride it and build on it, that's my plan.

Now, carry on wayward son.

the point of no return? how muchdisposable $$?? I am happy with a few mods to get it where I like and try to not be impolsive and trade too soon ,maybe in five years? If I put 20k in mods I would deffinitly wait at least 5 years ,stock could trade yearly. Trading and mods can be almost as bad as going to the race track every day
