Today is supposed to be my ship date. I just received a call from my dealer and was told that mine is still sitting in the warehouse awaiting a full truckload. My sales guy said hopefully it'll ship out tomorrow. Even though we're only a couple hours south of York, he said it sometimes takes several days for the bike to actually be delivered to the dealership - depending upon how the driver did his route (of the 20-30 bikes on the truck, any given dealership might only be receiving 2 or 3) across a multi-state area. Since I'm not having any other work done on mine at this point - it's just a basic pre-delivery setup - he said I'll probably be riding it by next weekend. I'm hoping!

RE: Ship Date Question
It finally shipped yesterday (1/2/08)! That's three weeks past the scheduled delivery date of 12/12/07, but I'm not complaining. I'm just happy they finally shipped it. It should arrive at the dealership today or tomorrow at the latest.
tda69: That's a great-looking bike!
Jeff: Sounds like we're in the same boat! I should be on mine by next weekend also!
I can say that Harley is pretty good with delivery dates. These dates do however change. For those of you who say they waited months, all I can say is it was not the MoCo's fault. All ship dates and current status are updated daily and are avalable to dealers at any time on hdnet. The salesman should be able to access and tell you the current status at any time. They have redesigned the website and alot has changed so he might not be up to speed yet, I am not but the info is there for him. That is what a salesman should do.

FYI, Harley did not amend my 12/12 ship date till yesterday when it actually shipped. So, they may very well be pretty good with their delivery dates except when they aren't. Maybe it was because they were in "holiday mode" the last few weeks in York, but it wasn't my salesman that dropped the ball in this instance, it was the factory.
Sorry XTRooper. The Motor Cois constantly updating these dates. When the date has passedlike your instance I have a sales represenative that will give me info on the phone, like they always have. The date may not have been updated, Except they just went back to work yesterday. Maybe that is why? I have never had an order where I could not get the status on from the website or quick phone call is all I stated.

RE: Ship Date Question
Understood. Here's exactly how things went down with my bike.
On 12/21/07, the Friday before Christmas (the last day the York plant was open before yesterday), my dealer's rep couldn't give him any information except to say that the bike was built, was sitting in the warehouse, and was ready to go on a truck. The system status on the computer was INVENTORY. When he called again yesterday which you correctly point out was their first day back from the holiday break, they told him they were 99% sure the bike would ship by the end of the day, which it did. The computer system status yesterday was still INVENTORY and the ship date still showed the original one of 12/12. This morning when my salesman checked, he was told the bike had shipped. My salesman called me to tell me the good news and he also faxed me a copy of my bike's current Vehicle Order Inquiry which I have in front of me. The inquiry has today's date and it shows the status as INVOICED. The "Plan Ship Date" still shows 12/12/07 with an "Actual Ship Date" of 1/2/08. So, what I'm saying is that in this instance, the actual ship date obviously changed, but the planned ship date was never changed or updated in the system. This isn't a complaint, just a statement of fact.
OK now my story ...... Bike had an "Inventory" status on 12/21 when they supposedly quit loading trucks. I didn't bother to call to check over the holidays since they said it wouldn't get on a truck until at least 1/2/08 and my salesman was on vacation until yesterday (1/3/08). I tried to callyesterday but the dealership was closed for inventory. I called this morning and guess what .... my bike is sitting at the dealership!! They are putting on a few things and it'll be ready tommorrow for pickup! WHOOHOO! Supposed to be in the high 50's and low 60's this weekend so we'll get that ole breakin out of the way!
Here we come baby ....... FLHTCU Crimson Red/Candy Red Sunglow, ABS, SERT, K&N, V&H Ovals, and couple of other goodies ...... just the start!!! Already cleaned our the garage and movedover the RKC a little to make room!

RE: Ship Date Question
Outstanding, WildHair! Congratulations! I got a call yesterday that mine arrived at the dealership on Wednesday. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow, but can't take it home because its paperwork hasn't arrived yet. I should be riding it by the end of next week.
You guys are killing me... I am about to pull the trigger on an '08 Ultra with ABS. But I want to sell my 06 RKC first. My dealer said it is about 6 - 8 weeks for delivery but after reading all this I am worried. I won't be able to stand not having a bike come spring. I think I had better have another talk with my dealer.
What is the average wait time from order to delivery amoung you guys?
