I don't know man I dress for the ride too. Leathers, motorcycle boots, etc. I have always carried a folder knife in my pocket as the most versatile tool a man can carry. I have ridden for too many years for anyone to call me a poser.

I do know where you are coming from. I find myself riding to rallies on the open road looking at the trailer queens with their scoots on the back of a trailer thinking to myself boy I feel sorry for them. In their own sick way they are probably thinking the same thing about me actually riding to the event.

I don't wear all of the rings on my fingers, or all of the pins on a vest. I wear what I need to ride and a t-shirt or sweat shirt underneath depending on the weather.

There are most certainly posers out there. My position is that I don't care. The more people on bikes the better. That's the way I see it.

I've been riding sinceI was 17 (49 now) and I've been selling bikes for 20 years. In all that time, I've never met a poser. If you buy a T-Shirt, just means you like MC shirts - if you buy a Metric, it means you bought what you could afford or preferred - if you buy a Harley, it means the same thing, you bought what you could afford or preferred. No such thing as a poser, imho.
BULLSHIT! You can't buy the lifestyle in a dealership!! There is a lot of truth in the quote " 15 grand and 15 miles doesn't make you a biker!!" BTW I don't even like the term "biker" anymore because it doesn't mean anything anymore! Everyone thinks putting on clothes that conform to someone's idea makes you a biker!!

If you own a Harley, then I consider you a biker. What you consider me to be is up to you ... and frankly, other than my old lady, I don't give a damn what anyone considers me to be.

Here, here! Started riding in 1966. It was a real Harley. Had everything since. Still interested in everything with 2 wheels but currently on an 08 RKC. Just ride for crying out loud.

This Poser crap just makes me laugh. Who gives a shi* what others wear or do. I think those that dwell on it so much must have a miserable life that they have to make such an issue over who is or is not a poser. I think if it so important to define the true biker which I think is laughable also. Then the true biker is someone that does not care what you all think and just rides for his own enjoyment. Those that are so worried about who is or is not a poser are the real posers.

my two cents worth

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!! well said!

I don't really know what I am.

I have a bike.I have a nice car I drive most days. I have an old Bronco I try not to drive (Gas). I live in a nice house.I have a good job that I go to 5-6 days a week. I mostly ride on weekends because of time. I try not to use my bike for transportation (too many careless cagers)... just pleasure.

I can say this. I love my bike. I love to ride.

I used to spend my freedays on the golf course... NowI am either riding my bike... or thinking about riding...
I ride alone... I ride with friends... I ride with people I don't even know.

I love to ride!

I only ride in bad weather if I get caught in it. It is never too hot to ride... but once it drops below 60 degrees... I look out the window and pray for sunshine.

What does that make me?
Lucky (For owning a nice bike.).
