I just got my first HD about a year and half ago and love it, I also ride a suzuki DRZ400 dirt bike. I was installing some heated grips on my bike that I got for Christmas and my buddy stopped by who ownes a 73 sportster. He was busting my ***** about the grips calling me a bad *** biker, all that ****... then I asked how many miles he rode last year - 50 is being generous. I have more than 7000 on the road and 3000 off-road. I don't know if I am a poser but I ride an awesome bike and work in NYC so I can't really ride to work, so I mostly ride at night or on weekends.
I don't care what you ride as long as you ride and enjoy it, you should. The only thing I have noticed is that people seem to be lacking riding skills lately. Myabe its my drit bike roots but there are a lot of people that don't really know what they are doing out there. I am not saying that I am the best rider in the world but I know my limits and how to control my RK.
Bottom line - is ride what you want and when you want. As long as you don't bother me or run into me I could care less.
Who Cares! I bought my first Harley last year, Ive been riding since I was 8. Ive had dirt bikes, enduros, jap 4's, and jap V Twins. I love my Harley, wish I would have gotten one sooner. Im a laid back guy,but biker or poser, If I wouldnt have you in my house or around my kids, Im sure not going to ride with you. Ive lived by a simple phrase for my whole adult life...If you arent in my house when I come home every day, and your not paying my bills, I dont give a damn what you think! Im not living my life, or buying my toys and accessories to impress you.My toys are paid for, cars andbikes,... Im a motorhead, dont like me dont ride with me....Im a happy guy!
Here's my newbie 2 cents, today, went for a ride, stopped by the side of the road for rest, guy 1/8 mile down from me opposite direction in his van, resting there, drives slowly by me, says to me, nice day, I'm gonna go home and get mine. So who gives a ***** about all the rest of this crap. Get out when you can, if you can, in whatever you can, on whatever you can, and let the wind blow free. By the way, reason I stopped on side of road, because went around turn a hair too fast, and the bike took me to the side of the road, so I just let up on her put me feet down and glided her to a stop. Lesson learned for me. Thought I'd throw that in there. Peace.
Personally, I dont have aproblem with theposers. However, Idonotlike theHarley hater/anti-american products basherpeople. Those people really burn my A$$!
i barely made it through page 1 of this drivel. couldn't take anymore so i'm posting without reading the next 3 pages. gosh, i hope i didn't miss anything profound.
