I like the one where you pull up at a gas station and some guy wearing a Harley shirt says" nice bike" I have a such n such but it's in the shop. I think I hear that at least once on every trip somewhere.

Well I'm 58 years old and started riding motorcycles when I was a kid. Owned more bikes than I can remember, Hondas, suzukis, kaws, harleys, I wave at goldwing riders and all other bikes. I dont call others Bro or want to be called Bro. I wear what I want to wear when I ride and dont care who likes it or not. I treat all bikers the way they treat me. I dont look down my nose at people riding other brand bikes. I think this attitude some people have that Harley is the best bike out there and if you're riding anything else you're trash is a bunch of crap. I guess I'm a posser or worse.

I agree with Texaspirate,a poser is someone who has the t-shirts,stickers,etc...but don't own a bike.

I don't really know what I am.

I have a bike.I have a nice car I drive most days. I have an old Bronco I try not to drive (Gas). I live in a nice house.I have a good job that I go to 5-6 days a week. I mostly ride on weekends because of time. I try not to use my bike for transportation (too many careless cagers)... just pleasure.

I can say this. I love my bike. I love to ride.

I used to spend my freedays on the golf course... NowI am either riding my bike... or thinking about riding...
I ride alone... I ride with friends... I ride with people I don't even know.

I love to ride!

I only ride in bad weather if I get caught in it. It is never too hot to ride... but once it drops below 60 degrees... I look out the window and pray for sunshine.

What does that make me?

This Poser crap just makes me laugh. Who gives a shi* what others wear or do. I think those that dwell on it so much must have a miserable life that they have to make such an issue over who is or is not a poser. I think if it so important to define the true biker which I think is laughable also. Then the true biker is someone that does not care what you all think and just rides for his own enjoyment. Those that are so worried about who is or is not a poser are the real posers.

my two cents worth

Ahh yes the age old question, what makes someone a poser. I loved Wild Hogs so much that I bought it. I love to ride simple as that, I ride 5 miles, I ride 500 miles, I ride to work, weekends, holidays, whenever the mood hits me, I also drive my truck when the mood strikes. I wear what I feel like wearing, if it happens to be HD related, so be it.I have HD boots, chaps, T-shirts, doo-ragscause I like them, I wear all kinds of stuff with HD on it, so what, I also wear other clothes too. I ride in hot, cold, rain(not on purpose) I bought my first bike 10 years ago, an 883, now I have a RK, I think I deserve it after 20 years in the military. When I bought the 883 all I heard was, "youknow that's a girls bike, right?" Well it was my bike and I went everywhere on it. I figuredif I was going down it would be better to dump a $7000 bike, than a $17000 bike, sinceit was my first bike. I can proudly say I have never trailered my bike. I agree with alot of comments on here, just do what makes you happy and screw what others think. As my dad used to say, "if people would spend as much time worrying about themselves as theydo others, they would have a full time job"(great advice dad). I ride by myself, I ride with my wife, I ride with others. If you're curious as to a gathering of what some might call a RUB or Poser try doing the Love Ride sometime. Someone brought their bike to a trailer rally. Like I saiddo what makes you happy, after all nobody is paying your bills for you or are you a kept man, that's a whole nother subject.Just my two cents

...I have seenpeople wearing, headbands, leather vest, men wearing a ring in every finger, knives on the side. My point is do you have to wear all that to be a cool rider... It really does not matter to me when or what you wear when you ride, does it matter to you?
What you wrote sounds like you look to see what everyone wears, so it must matter to you what you and everyone else wears, even though you say it doesn't matter to you. If it didn't matter to you, you wouldn't notice what others wear.
