yesterday my IDS has come....take in my bike to a friends local shop, ask myfriend (the mechanic) to install it...it took 1 hour to do.....the mechanic said its a very easy job, u should able to do this job urself....i said "no thanks....thats why u have this job...its ur part..".....
u know how much i pay him to install the IDS..? i paid Rp 100,000 or US$ 10,5.....great price i think...
today take my ultra out for short ride......woww...the bike feel TIGHTER...a lot tighter...in every rpm in every gear.....i found myself often ride the bike with 1500 rpm...with no transmision noise at all....the bike feel so smooth now....trust me man....
would u believe i can ride my ultra at 6th gear at 50 mph with no noise and smooth feeling..???
yes i can do that now.....
harley should install IDS from the factory....the money worth it ......
Sorry - but with all due respect, what yer advocatin' is the installation of sumthin' that'll mask the warnin' sign of potential engine damage. Runnin' the 96 at 1500 rpm is luggin' the engine - an' it is NOT good fer the engine, no matter how quiet it is.
Ya don't have ta take mah word for it - do some research on luggin' an engine....
Agreed but I think he was giving an extreme example. The kit works, its now standard equip on 08 tourers. But keep the rpms up.
+1 Even though it is smooth at those low rpms don't spend much time lugging the engine. I love the IDS and am a believer in it. It's just as nice at 2300-2500 rpms and better for the engine imo.
sorry if i make somebody else to luggin the engine...
but my post is true from my experience after IDS installed....if running the engine with 1500 rpm will luggin the engine....sorry... i just want tell everybody that IDS did the job perfectly....
im no mean ask everybody to lug their engine....
