I swapped my '07 road glide in orange, for an 08 road glide in orange.
Had several reasons. The orange didnt look right to me with the silver engine,
for 08 they came with black. Looks much better to me. The 07 had no major
issues, but I did have one of the rear shocks warranteed twice, due to leakage.
The 07 had the noisy 5th gear, which got quieter as the miles were put on.
The 08 rides nicer - probably since it is new. Had 12000 on the 07. I still like
my 03 hot rod the best.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who has taken a big hit in order to get an '08. Bought an '07 FXSTC in November '06, then traded it in on an '07 VRSCAW. Traded the v-rod in in January on an '08 FLHTC with cruise. Swore to the wife that I AM DONE (for now).
Granted, I sold my 07 Heritage Softail (apple) to buy my 08 Ultra (orange). I only kick myself because I wished I knew I wanted/needed the Glide in the first place.
For me, it was a question to spend $k's to make the Heritage more "tour-ish" or bite the bullet and get the right tool for the job. I put 8k miles on that Heritage in the first 5 months ... the writing was on the wall as they say.
I did debate finding a good/better deal on an 07 EG, but decided the ABS, 6 gallons, etc were worth the $$ (to me).
Fwiw, I *love* my Ultra and am stunned each time I ride at how much better it handles and rides and powers vs the 07 Heritage (apple).
Traded in my 07 Road Glide for an 08 Street Glide. Had nothing to do with the improvements. I just wanted to be back on a Street Glide. Had an 06 SG prior to the Road Glide. And I didn't take a hit trading either. In fact I got a damn good deal.
I traded a 07 for a 08 but it was a sportster for a EGS.... I rode one of our chapter members road king and was hooked.. Then choose the Electra glide .....I am very happy with my choice
Monstermile.....Sounds sweet to me to have three new bikes three years in a row

It helps that I have bought 5 bikes from them and referred three people who bought. And I stand my ground. I didn't take a deal just to get a new bike. I got it to where I wanted before I signed on the dotted line.
