A friend of mine is thinking of getting a new 08 road glide.
I told him to get a good used 06'. (the only advantage I can give him about getting the 08 is that it hasABS)
I own a 07' road glide, so I have already cast my vote for the 06 and back models, for reasons I am sure you all are famaliar with.
I dunno, my '07 SG is doing just fine.. If he can find a good deal on a used bike then sure, why not go for it.. But if you want to get EXACTLY what you want, odds are you will need to go new and order it.
Tell him to buy a 2008. I am a harley share holder and the stock has tanked. Sales are down, production is slashed, HD needs every sale they can make. Why buy used for $1000s less when you can buy a new one for full price and you might even get a free T shirt.

yeah, what he said! I mean, I'll never be able to afford a NEW ONE, and, well, its seems to me that someone has to come along and buy the new ones FIRST and eat all that depreciation... if you don't do that, I won't be able to buy your year old, barely even broke in awesome rides! Spend the big bucks! Go for the GUSTO! The economy needs your help!
Have him buy an 08 and don't pay a penny over 18K. Stick to your guns because it will be a buyers market very soon if it isn't already. I have an 07 and except for a small oil leak covered under warranty, have had no problems. BTW, I paid 18K for mine 3 weeks before the 08s hit the floor.

The truth, the a 05 or 06 has less problems & heat. They are geared better and costs less. Do not buy a 07, whatever he does, if he has to have a newer one then get the 08. To me the only advantage to a 08 is better stripes than a 06 and back and the black painted motor.
