yep if everybody would give their dealer a chance to meet Zanotti or chicao hd might see a change in pricing.
Then if it didn't happen , everybody give their dealer a copy of the receipt after purchase.
Then let the smart dealers add up their losses.
Had about a $600 difference in big bore kit between mine and zanottis.
He refused to budge so he lost $3200 all total.
Well, I never mentioned it, but Im from Stockton, CA and the dealership out here decided to builda brand new big building in a lil town just south called Lathrop, CA. So I just now figured out why they bumped up the prices....so the consumer can pay for their bright idea. Im not upset.....well yeah sorta, since thats where I go to purchase parts and what not.
It's a business decision, for every person that comes in and realizes that the markup is way too high there are probably another two who will pony up the money. Obviously they feel like their sales aren't going to be affected by this. I work in healthcare and the markup there is 400%, piece of equipment that costs a supplier 400 will be sold to a patient for 1600.
It's their right as a business owner to do whatever they want and it's your right as a consumer to bend over and take it or shop around. I like the idea of going back to the dealer with your receipt in hand and showing them your savings and their loss. If enough people did that it might come up in the next business meeting of the minds. I shop around for everything because i have the time at work to do so but i find that a good place to start is ask right here. Lots of good people with plenty of good answers even for the likes of me Mr.Richard Cranium.
