Only reason I think this 2 into 1 issue keeps resurfacing is that once you are spending thousands of dollars in engine modifications, you are shooting yourself in the foot by not going to a 2 into one to take full advantage of the money you spent. Other will disagree, and all are entitled to their opinions, but I am not going to sacrifice some of the tq I just spent money to gain by hanging true duals on the bike.
BTW, I did run Rinehart TDs on my 95" 03 RKC and was perfectly happy with the performance. At that time I just could not get past the look of a bagger without duals, now I rather like the looks with a 2 into 1.
new so question why go with true duels if so many of you claim it lowers torque? just asking
If you're "just asking", maybe you ought to "ask" how to spell it.
"Duel" is when people try to cancel each other out, by whatever means. Not what you are trying to find out about, right?
Since you didn't ask, but you still need to know the difference, "duel" and "dual" are distinctly different. Important? Yes, assuming you want to actually "communicate".
Duelling? That's challenging someone to the death. "True duals" - that's separate exhausts for each cylinder.
You're welcome.
Flamers? Screw you - speaking the language correctly and being able to communicate is what separates us from the apes. Join the human species, or accept the alternative. Your choice.

I put Vance and Hines True Duals and their oval mufflers on my 2003 Ultra. I also installed a Power Commander III with a standard pre-programmed map. The maps did not specifically call out my 2003 so I used one that was for a 2005 with this setup. I also have the Screaming Eagle air cleaner kit. The standard map I used runs the engine a little too rich. I haven't done anything to correct that yet.
If there is a torque differenceI couldn't tell. My wife noticedthat her right leg was cooler than before. These pipes open up the area behind the engine and I believe that they are much better looking than stock.
less heat on right leg, sound, and the look....
i cant noticed torque loss on my 07 compare to stock exhaust....im sure no loss on torque...
but i must admit thatmy TD give meNO gain at low rpm torque compare to stock exhaust and give some gain at the mid to high rpm....maybe 2-1 will improve the torque more than stock exhaust....

Uh....excuse me.....uh......Professor Racklefratz....."Duelling" is spelled "D-U-E-L-I-N-G". Sorry I'm not trying to be a smart ***, I'm just supporting your theory.
true duals for looks and sound
2-1 for best power & torque { most cases }
Just depends on your " priorities " .........my 2 cents worth. [sm=smiley31.gif]
you made a mistake too my small minded friend grow-up
