I'm looking through the parts catalog trying to decide what I want to do with my foot pegs. I know it seems silly but I don't want to do it more then once...I figure what ever foot pegs I pick for my Highway pegs will be the direction I go with the bike.
I'm just not sure about anything. The Deluxe was really easy...nostalgic everything [&:] The Ultra though is like a blank canvas no obvious true direction.
I'm pretty simple...I like clean lines. I realize the DeluxeI had was a chromewhoreand if I had a black Ultra I think I would be in the same spot. ButI find the chrome sort of just melts into the white gold. I'll be painting her darker on the bottom at some point but at the moment its White Gold and it may be that way for at least the first riding season.
Got the Heated Contoured Chrome and Rubber Custom Hand Grips (56512-08) so they are pretty simple.
I'm between3 looks.....
I sat on a 06' SE and liked the Stealth Collection on it. They felt good...the Foot pegs have a full rubber backside that looks like the grips, but the front and floorboards are just thin rubber strips on chrome.
or
Aileron -- Uber nice but also uber expensive
or
Streamliner -- lots of rubber like the had grips but the back is all chrome and the bottom of the shift pegs have like 2 strips of rubber.
I will be adding the Kuryakan foot pegs for the passenger. Not totally impressed with thier chrome though (hubby has some on his bike).
Streamliner is my favorite. I would change the boards and pedals on my RKC to them, but don't want to get off the nearly $500 for everything.
Yeah gonna take a bit to get me all the way there...Starting with the foot pegs for the Highwaysetup (my knees start to hurt if I can't strech) then I'lladd-onas I get the spare change. But pretty much once I pick the pegs I'm set to a style....
You had nerve enough to buy this great bike, what we say doesn't matter. You are on a great start, keep trusting your instincts.
So far you'r batting 1,000.
