Default Battery reinstall

I just took out the battery for the rest of the winter, to put the tender on it. I live in a condo and there's no outlets in the parking garage. My question is, when I go to put it back in, in a few months, will there be any issues with the alarm or anything else when the power comes back on, or do I just put it in, reset the clock and off I go?

Thanks in advance!!

Kevin

My battery is out for the winter too (In WI that means till April). Two separate dealer's mechanics told me "most you will have to do is reset your radio presets & the clock" . I don't have an alarm, so don't know.

All you have to do is reset the clock and radio. I used to live in the prairies where it gets COLD and the place
I stored my bike had no plug in for a tender. Taking the battery out gives you a chance also to inspect
it for cracks or other things. I'm sure you know this but keep the tender on the whole time
you have the battery out of the bike.

Later........

Same here!

for disable the alarm, when i put the battery out,
ignition from on to off, en directpull the main fuse out, before the alarm flikker to on.
No problems with the alarm when no battery.

and what with a RKC 2007 with alarm ?
what i have to do special when i put the battery in?

You will definitely have a problem if you have a factory alarm system. You MUST put the bike in transport mode first. Otherwise the internal alarm battery will run down and the computer will think that the bike has been altered (stolen) and you have a high probability that it will not start come Spring. You will have to have it serviced and the internal alarm battery replaced.
It is a simple step to put it in transport mode, take a look at your owners manual.
I made the same mistake and was corrected by my service manager. I live in NH and he strongly recommends not pulling the battery on newer bikes, They are not wet-cell batteries of yesteryear. All that is required is a tender even in temps below zero. I understand your problem pull the battery bring it in the house with a tender only after putting the bike in transport mode. Good luck. Search my post and you will see my history on this topic, one asking the same question as you because my alarm kept going off and the followup info from my dealer.

As long as the alarm was not armed when you pulled the battery, you should be good to go.
