Default Value your opinions

Have been eagerly reading post and getting all the info I could when I decided to get rid of my metric cruiser and get a Harley Bagger. Need something that is easier on my significant others behind . Was interested in Street Glide and Roadking, but was hard pressed to get rid if the sleek, lower, fat tire (280) of my Warrior but I think I found the bike, your opinions would be helpfull, have a deposit on it pending trade in allowance and financing. It is at St.Paul Harley Davidson, owned by a salesman, he has new bike sitting, wants to sell this bike. Started as a '91 Ultra Classic, stripped to frame, powdercoated high gloss black, put on front end from '05 roadking, all black, 21"spokes on front,18" rear w/avons, chain drive w/all new sprockets. All new wireing harness w/lines run in bars . Brake/running lights flush mounted to hard bags, 127Ultima, show polish finish, still under warranty. 6 speed gearset in stock case. All new seals/bearings. Barnett scorpion clutch in primary, primary has new seals and bearings.New HD charging system including voltage regulator. All new HD skull accces. like grips, rider/passenger floorboards, axel covers, timing cover, air cleaner cover, ect.. Has chrome high torque starter and new HD battery, compression releases, wired for trickle charger, stretched and widened tank w/pop up filler. All black except for the wheels, engine/tranny ,Rhinehart 2 into 1. Dyno'd at 136 hp, ya I know that means a bunch of nothing, sharp looking bike, $12,000. basicly an all new bike 1,500 miles, built it, took it to Sturgis last year, has been at dealer since Sept, now selling it, has built or had a number of bikes built over the years, says no corners were ccut, a proffesional build, all work done by certified mechanics. What do you think. Thanks Tried to upload, says file to large.

Check the title for it being salvaged. Some states are getting sticky about having a bike without matching numbers on the title and motor. Could save ya a lot of frustration, other than that sounds nice.

How is it under warranty? I thought ultima engines had a 6 month / 6,000 mile warranty from date of purchase. So is it $12,000 + trade or $12,000 before a trade is figured in? Sounds like a nice bike but I'd be concerned why it was stripped down and rebuilt. I'd ask a bunch more questions before I'd bit on it. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

To me, it sounds high - no matter what, you're payin' 12k for a 16 year-old bike....

Was originally purchased as an '91 uultra w/damaged front end, went from their, Bike is being sold for $12,000., owner told me engine was still under warranty, really don't care, like the bike , is financially in my reach, want it. If it was a bone stock '91 I would not consider the asking price, to me it is a new and improved '91, sleek and powerfull and I like it. thanks

I agree with Denny and Jer, if you're satisfied with it, that's all that counts. You won't be happy until you pull the trigger. But if you're sure, don't wait, I've been guilty of waiting, finally deciding and then finding out that what I wanted had been sold.
