Default HILLSIDECYCLE 117 BUILD--DYNO attached

A few months back i posted a thread asking for opinions on the 117 or 124 build. Lots of great opinions and thank you to everyone who responded. I had decided that i was going to stick with the 103 build hillsidecycle had done for me.....when much to my surprise--the santa gave me the 117 build for christmas (i love my wife!!!).

Well--As of january 4th--Friday--the buiuld is done and the bike is going through heat cycling as i post this. I hope to have dyno numbers by end of next week. Joe at joescyclerepair had a bit of an elaborate process he puts all new bike throught before he really gets to the tuning. Lots of miles slowly added on the dyno for optimum breaK-in, and then the tune.

Build is:
08 street glide
stock heads recut by hillsidecycle.com
117 axtell barrels and pistons
10.2-1 CR
58mm SE TB
D&D fatcat--baflles is subject to change-but standard baffle for now
Crank tig welded and trued by hillsidecycle.com
VTC clutch set up
woods tw6-6 cam...yes, only 510 lift
SERT
EFI tuning by joe at joescyclerepair.com

After discussing with scott at hillsidecycle my needs and goals--I am looking for TQ at or about 135-140...hitting hard at 2300 rpm....and staying pretty strong the entire rmp range. I don't rev the bike past 5200 rpm. Expect HP in the 115-120 range. I told scott about my riding style , lots of highway, and desire for good low end grunt. I don't need big HP numbers at 6500rpm....does me no good--. SO--hopefully--will have a dyno to post in the next week or two.

I am very grateful to all of those forum members who gave their opinions --and am especially grateful for those members who put me in touch with hillsidecycle.com and joescyclerepair.com

here is the dyno i got by fax today-1-16-08...still a work in progress but almost done.

Been thinking about the 117" build myself so I'll be curious to see how yours turns out......i've already got the Stage III heads (Hillside) and Woods 400G in my 95" so I'd probably re-use those with some mods to the heads.....it never stops [/align]

Same here. May go with a 117 build from Scott as well. I am thinking about a 9b and stage 3 heads and some compression. I do have a bagger as well, but wind it out a lot. would love to see your dyno as well as how it feels on the road for sure. Are you able to ride it where you live, or are you in the winter climate(snow) like some of us?

Sounds like a great build................can't wait to see the results.

I'm gathering parts for a Hillside Stage 2 heads/TW-6G/10-1/95" build right now.............can't wait to try it out in the spring.

Sounds like a great build. Will be anxoius to see what it does, more from the seat of the pants feel, but also, interested in the numbers. I have heard the Hillside builds are impressive.

I spoke to joe at joescyclerepair last week-who does the efi tuning for hillsidecycle. He just finished up one of their 117 builds . Turned 139TQ and 123HP. Said it was making something like 125 in the low 2000rpms range...not exactly sure at what rpm. I think i's a similar build to what i am doing but an older bike and smaller TB, and no fby to deal with. i would be just thrilled with those kind of numbers form my bagger.

Dalton--I just heard from another Hillsidecycle customer who just finished his 117 build. His numbers wewre 137TQ and 122HP--He siad he put about 60 miles on it his past weekend and says it is a STUMP PULLER with MASSIVE LOW END TQ. That is exactly the build i am looking for and exactly what HILLSIDECYCLE is known for. JOe at joescyclerepair tuned it also. From what he says--the numbers were biggerbut joe backed the tunedown a little for smooth and easy running...I will try to get my hands on the sheet and post it.
