Pappy, sounds like you've had your share of problems with them. I do know about the tendency to turn purple. I've heard some even take on a gold tint. The purple discoloration wouldn't bother me too much. But, I thought they had figured that little "glitch" out. Guess not!
My parts guy told me about past problems with header pipes breaking at one of the mounts. He said they have replaced quite a few under warranty and that the new pipe comes with a better clamp and mount. Gotta take his word for it. He hasn't even come close to trying to screw me or steer me wrong yet. Matter of fact, he's the one that brought up the Bub 7's........maybe I should be taking the hint!
I forgot to mention, just in case any of you were wondering. The new pipes will be going on a new Crimson Red Sunglow Road Glide. So....the pipes gotta look good just to make up for the ugly bike!
I call this the "best of both worlds" configuration. Bub 7s w/xover offer dual pipes with excellent low end torque. Not as loud as some of the other pipes, but a nice low rumble.
I am dying to put mine on along with the 08 TMax. (Whenever they release the new TMax). Have the pipes, but still waiting on the TMax.
Can't wait.

I'm in the same boat as you, trying to decide which to go with. One day its the Rineharts and the next its the BUB 7's. I'm not going to make my decision for another week or so yet, so I still have time to get some more feedback. Let me know via email or PM what route you take and how you like them if you make the move in the next couple of weeks.
One question I would have about these Peacemaker pipes. Is there any effect on your fuel/air mixture when you open and close these things? Does torque and HP vary at different RPMS as you change the setting?
