I'm 54 and have both a Sportster and an RKC......The sportster is for when I wanna ride a quick performance type bike and act foolish for a few moments, the RKC is there when I want to experience the best in handling/ride for those laid back hours on an endless hwy.

I chose the RKC because it lends itself to so many different looks/styles but still remains the sweetest handling/riding bike of all HD's.

I've got both the two-up seat and solo seat, leather and hard bags, detachable stock windshield and a detachable fairing with stereo, anda removable tour pack.....outfitted like that I've got three/four different motorcycles all rolled into one....in just a few minutes I can completely change it's looks and function and still have a sweet ride.

A guy can buy an RK or RKC and easily adapt it to just about any situation.

I used to have a metric bike, and always wanted a heritage Soft tail Classic. I absolutly loved the look of the heritage. When I was financialy able to get my new Harley, I test drove both. There was no question on which one I decided on getting. The ride differance was like night and day. Since it was My Dime, it was My decision. I got the Classic....Road King that is.

I only have a RK so i can not make a comp. But my cuz has a beautiful Heritage and wanted to "up grade" to a RK and give his Heritage to his son. He got the RK ('03)and after a few thousand miles has decided to keep the Heritage because the RK "beat him to death" just harder to handle. Every body is different so rent both and decide for your self.

I rode both beforeI bought my bike. They do handle different. But, for me, it was the way the king fit me. The heritage, although comfortable, seemed smaller. I did like how I felt like I sat in the bike, as apposed to on it like the king. But, for my riding, the king was my choice. I have not regretted the decision, at all. Plus, with the '08, you have the option of ABS, and the bigger tank. Plus, I feel I have a lot more options for looks on the king. Ya can really transform the bike to your mood, or ride... just sayin'...

Long Live The King!!!!!!

There both pretty versatile as far as dressing up or down, hell they have brackets to put hardbags on and a fairing on the softail, but the overall highway comfort goes to the king or any other touring bike for that matter!JMO

I had the opportunity to ride my neighbors Heritage solo and 2 up and really liked it but I always liked the looks of the RK (and I wanted hard bags). Bought the RK with hard bags, very pleased with my choice.

I had a heritage classic and my wife wasn't happy two up. She is much more comfortable on the king. The road king is a better way to go when looking at distance and any two up riding. Gotta keep the little women happy
