If I won't be riding for a week or so like out of town. I put it on the yellow jack up against the wall. This way my roommate don't have to move it to get his Vette out. I will put the sttraps on for that. I don't do my own tires or anything like that.
I run them from the base of the jack to the floorboard brackets.

Good id using the floorboard brackets that would prevent a roll over in the straps as Badfinger points out. Could also take the seat off to prevent strap damage.
I have had the red jack since 2000 I dont use it very often but when I do I never have strapped any bike and like someone else said I tie the handle just enoug so when I bring it down I dont have that inital turn that could cause to bike to go down and quick..
