Default heat from fatcat 2-1 exhaust on driver's leg?

I'm pondering puting a fatcat on my ultra. I need to get the heat off my passengers right foot, she doesn't like it at all. I know a dual exhaust will remove the heat from the right rearbut at the price off some loss in torque. I want more torque. I hearthe fatcatgives you great torque but at what price in extra heat do you pay? My question is if there is much extra heat on the drivers right leg from the rear pipe of a fat cat? My bike is hot enough so don't want to add any more heat for myself, but hopefully it will cool down some with a pipe/ac and some type fuel management system. Thanks

Yes the drivers right leg gets hot if you are not rolling, no heat on the left side obviously, dont know about the passanger but since you dont have the crossover it should be cooler.

I have the Fatcat also, and it took allot of the heat away, but you still have some, not really when you are riding, but when you are at idle.
I went thru 3 different types of slip ons and was at the point of putting on tru duals, but heard so many great thinggs about the Fat Cat, thought I would give it a try. Best Exhaust so far for me, nice sound, great power and torque.
Heat is Nothing like it was, but the key to it is a good tune/dyno
My bike runs great now that I had it all dyno'd out and dialed in

One thing you may consider is getting a Jet-Hot coating on that Fatcat. It's supposed to cut down on the heat quite a bit.

Fatcats sound great and make good power. They are also hot on the right leg with the equal length headers. It bothered me and is the only reason I would think twice before getting another one when I make an exhaust change. I still may get one in black. I like the pipe, but the heat issue sucks.

I have the same problem but this condition has been greatly reduced...

The HEAT ISSUE really came to be when they released the the 96" Twin-Cam Engine in '07...

Doing a STAGE 1 will help reduce this problem because it allows a richer fuel air mixture and a better Air-Fuel Mix... A GOOD SYN OIL (like AMSOIL or Mobil 1) will also help in the reduction of heat transfer.. I even installed RJ's Orignals Saddlebag Shields which really reduced the Heat Build-up in my passangers foot & raising the passangers floorboard to a higher level...

Will FatCats help??? You're just directing more heat away from the passanger and adding that heat to the drivers area... 2-into-2 would be the best way to direct the heat away from both the Rider & the Passanger... Will you lose lower end touque... Evenyone says yes... But how much?? You have to make the choice rider comfort or little more torque...

Living in So California out by Palm Springs where the Summer Months are well above 120 degrees... The changes I have done (Slip-Ons\Fuel Management System\Air Kit\RJ's Orignals\Syn Oil & raising the passangers floorboards) have made it better for the passanger to ride all day without to much discomfort...

The Fatcat was much hotter on my 06 than duals or stock headers.

Only time I notice the heat from the Fatcat is at a stop.............then I have to go with a wider stance so I don't burn my right leg. A few pairs of my pants have burn marks on them on the right leg from the Fatcat.......and I have to clean the pipe sometimes to get the pants off of them. Nothing major at all, but that rear pipe does come out further then any other.

I can feel some heat off of mine, but like many others have done some things to make the engine run cooler overall. Sitting at a light with no air movement, heat's gonna rise no matter what you do.To be honest, I haven't done any riding across some really hot zones yet (live in Idaho, pretty mellow as far as heat), but so far it isn't an issue. We'll see come summer time!

I'm also looking at a new exhaust this winter and am looking at the fatcat. But I was wandering if your passenger's foot would be to close to the pipe? I like the extra torque a 2 into 1 system would provide but haven't ruled out true duals yet either................[8D]
