Default HD oil cooler on

HD should have designed the adaptor with a more common sized hex and the heax head to use a regular socket.

Cant install with the chrome regulator cover.

Hope this thing is effective, its frikken hot here in Miami pretty much year round.

I agree; took all weekend to find a 7/16th. Tried running some nuts up a bolt but kept breaking the the bolt when I torqued it. Finally found a friend who is a diesel mechanic who let me borrow one. What a pain; but the end result worked out and it seemed to help all last summer.

It dropped my oil temps 20-30 degrees............much better.

The install is easy, just tight space so there is not a lot of room to work.

Yea, really an oddball size. I found the right size at a local hardware store.
The cooler really cooled the bike down...............

Try this again. I am getting ready to install the HD premium oil cooler on my 05 Road King. What is the special wrench that is needed for the install. Your reply will be much appreciated.

A 7/16" allen wrench or hex head socket. It's not a standard size in most kits, so you have to buy it seperately. I just happened to have one so it wasn't a big deal for me.

Just puchased a '90 Roadking w/Ultima 127, live in Wisc. Ultima recomends oil cooler, considering I live in a cooler climate do you think it is a necessity and does bringing the oil temp down 30 degree's pose any adverse effect on performance or engine, may seem like a dumb ? but.
