Default Doherty air cleaners

Kinda new around here and could use a little help.Any way my question is that Iam currently running a K&N 3909 air cleaner and it performes very well but if I switch to a Doherty air cleaner will I notice any difference?? The price is a big difference I know. The Doherty is a very impressive looking piece of equipment and from what Iam hearing it's performance is great. Would appreciate any input.

It is really a beuatiful piece of equipment in that the machining looks like each is made one by one. I have one sitting on my workbench, including the billet cover, waiting for different breather bolts, wrong ones originally shipped[:@]. But when I called, they said they would even overnight new ones if I wanted, but told them no hurry. Great customer service and when you call, most likely you end up talking with one of the owners.

Don't know if the claims are for real that you can gain 10+ hp, but if so, it is an inexpensive and easy way to gain that much power.

IMHO, I really don't think it will breath any better than the A. Ness Big Sucker II, not just because I have one, but it is designed much better for the breathers I never had much faith in the hoses going to the breathers A Ness is designed with the solid bolt up and O rings witch is a much better design in my book... Good luck in your choice....Jer

I put a Doherty on my bike last year, don't know if I picked up any power. I do know it is one sweet looking piece, far nicer than the cast stuff that is out there. I like the fact that I can vent it to a hose and not pump all that snot into my engine.

I have one because of the workmanship and ALL the reviews I've read say it's the very best for performance period!

It is indeed a work of art.Power claims are impressive.I like mine and would do it again.Since I did pipes/aircleaner/fuel management at the same time, couldnt say what I gained with just the aircleaner.I dont think you would see a big differance if you already have a K&N
