A good alternative may be to remove the air temp gauge and then install the "blank" that the Electra Glide Standards use in that hole--it's just a platic plug that you could put a hole in and install the cig lighter in it.

remove the bat wing outer fairing, determine where you have room to relocate it.
Buy a 7/8 in hole saw for your drill. I think the outer screw sleeve of the lighter
assembly is 15/16.
This will cut the best hole.
Gently ream with a file or dremel to size for the socket half.
always better to cut first hole small, just in case of an oops.
I placed mine in the righthand side frame cover along with the ignition switch,
when I customized the 01 EGC.
Ya we got the front cover off and were doing some measuring and looking as to possibly the best location and the place with the most room thick we have found a spot and will be checking measurements. Got to work all week so maybe a week or so but i will get pics and info when we do it.
