Da boys- I did this to my old '98 RK hardbags and they came out really great. I dont have the p/n any more, but Drag Specialties and I think Custom Chrome stock a hardbag liner kit that is like thin carpeting that adheres REALLY well. They are precision cut pieces that you peel off the paper and press and install inside the bags. The material is very pliable and can be stretched out, and if you didnt s t r e t c h one out enough you can make up for it with the other ones. They make foam fillers and a rigid pad for the bag bottoms.
I abused the crap outta mine, were installed for @ 75-80,000 miles and made several X-country trips and held up well. If you happen to throw anything with velcro into the bags they have a tendancy to gravitate and stick to the liners a bit but just peel them back off the liner. I think the cost was less than $100.00 at the time.
I have been looking for liners .I went to E bay and looked under Road glide and found evey thing Im looking for .It cool you posted the question ,now I know there worth the 79$ for the 3 bags.
