I need a favor! I just purchased a King Tour Pak for my Road King off eBay. It was new but did not come with any installation instructions. In the HD discription it says it is pre-drilled for the key lock passenger backrest but it really isn't. It has the lock hole but as you see in the picture there are no backrest holes. I also purchased a backrest and detachable mount off of ebay but they are not here yet. I might be jumping the gun but I really doubt the backrest will come with the mounting template as it is "lightly used" but used. Does anyone here have one? I have read that it is just paper but I was hoping someone here would have one laying around they could photocopy and send me. I will gladly send you stamp money as I know the USPS is almost as crooked as the Oilcompanies these days. Just kidding... But I would not expect someone to do this for free soif you have one let me know and we will work something out.
I have all the templates you need for backrest, speaker pods & spoiler.
I will have to dig them out & trace them. I can mail them if you need.
Mike
You don't have to have anyone send it to you... just go to your local dealer, and they will print out the instructions, free of charge...
PapaTravis,
I'd like to think they would but let's be honest. Harley-Davidson Dealerships rarely do anything for free. But I have to go get the lock so I will ask. If not there was a response from another guy up top. Maybe I can get them from him.
Johnny: Have the PN for your backrest with you so the parts guy can look-up and print-out the installation instructions for you.
My experience has been that the parts guys will provide the copies free of charge--I've done this many times; ususally, when thinking about an accessory that will require something more than just swapping parts; e.g. cruise control, auxillary light kit, etc. Reading the installation instructions before purchasing gives me an idea if it's something I want/can do myself and if it requires any special tools.
I'm looking for someone who might be able to copy their paper template from their Tour Pak Backrest Installation Documentation and send it to me via USPS. I will be glad to pay postage and copying costs. Any help would beapprieciated.

I go to my dealership at least once a week to get FREE printed instructions for any parts related to my Ultra. Don't knock it until you try it.
I have three dealerships that have no problem printing up a set of instructions for me. I have even called the Harley Service and they sent me a template for fairing mounted mirrors. Then I went to my dealership and got a copy of the instructions. No problem. Give them a try. You might be suprised. If they say "NO", find another dealership to deal with.
