I really like ludington and the UP but as others have said weather that time of year can be a major issue. I drove up to whitefish point and copper harbor years ago and always wanted to go back on a bike. I find myself wondering if it is still as undeveloped as it was in 76. Good Lord, I have become old.

Let me know when you'll be here and I'll try to meet up with you guys for a beer. Beautiful country but May can be a crapshoot to ride in.
Sarge.
If we do come up that way, I'll definately give you a shout. Would be good to meet someone that's been there more than me. Last time i was there was in the mid to late '70's.
Thanks to all that have replied too, I've got alot of web searching to do now. LOL. Maybe we'll see each other on the road and have a few " oat sodas".
Tunnel of trees is very cool, HWY 119. Try to go that way if you can. At the northern end of it is a resturant called Legs Inn. Stop and eat there, it's a very cool place. Mackinaw city at the base of the bridge is nice to visit also. Unfortunatley there is a helmet law in MI. People are fine with bikers in my experience. Also if you go through ******* the Harley shop there is very nice,I think it'sNorth Woods Harley. During the days in Mayare fine 60-70 the nights could be cooler. Pack your leathers and youshould be fine.
