I have a set of Street Glide wheels from an 08 that I'm getting ready to put on my 07. Does anyone know if the standard Harley wheel bearing installation kits fit these stock wheels.
The bearing kits I'm looking at are the 43848-08 1" bearing kit for the front and the 83861-08 1" kit for the rear.
I'm almost possitive they are the correct ones but haven't found anyone that knows for sure.
05 and 07 are the same. There was a change made in 08,not sure what
it was but need to find out myself. Been looking at a set of 08 wheels and rotors
for my 06 RK.
jag1886, I have heard thet the front wheel is the same but the back wheel is different from Hammer Cycle (a wheel manufacturer). Try to call one of the big wheel companmies as they would have had to figured out what the hub is. As far as just the bearrings goes, You will need the 1" on each side and a 1" slip fit axle bearring spacer. The 1" bearrings are wider than the new 25mm ones you are taking out but the length of the 1" slip fit axle bearring spacer is the same on the front. The rear wheel has a new cush drive on it so you need to pay attention to that along with mounting of the pulley. I have not measured these wheels myself so everything I am telling you is hearsay. I do not tell things I am not 100% sure of along with done/measured it myself.
So HD went from a 25.4 mm Bearing down to a 25.0 mm bearing? Why for such a small difference? Just to be different? So they went to a bearing that is 16 thousand of an inch smaller.
I have the 08 cush drive also. I can see the differances in it; the 07 has two spacers and a bearing the 08 only has one spacer on the out side and the inner spacer is part of the bearing, I'm ordering all thebearings and spacers from Chicago Harley tonight; I talked to them today and tomy worthless dealer here it town and theyboth said with new bearing kits everything (should) fit but no one has actually done it.
