i'll probably end up calling fuelmoto but in the mean time i will be going on a poer run today i have drove a solid rod through a stock set of mufflers that were gave to me so i still have the stock ones to put back on. will having straight pipes hurt my engine on a 200 mile ride or so?if so i'm changing back to stock.thanks Zach
Beleive it or not you can do the work yourself, I am no exeperienced mechanic but did all the work on my bike myself.... headers, slipons, SE Air Cleaner, and PC III I felt better doing it myself. But the parts are still pricey.
The difference in the heat on your right leg is amazing with true duals, not to mention hearing the bike in stereo, it'll sound so much better you won't beleilve it. If you're going to put a tuner of some kind on it, you had just as well put a free flowing breather on the bike, that right there is what will really make a difference in the way your bike runs. It won't even seem like the same machine. There was a pc111 in the classifieds for 200 yesterday. and I've seen em for 150.00 at different times. If you'll watch the classfieds you can get every thing you need at a good price. Folks buy the parts put them on and then see something else they think they'll like better and put the other stuff up for sale. It happens all the time. Lotta times they throw the shipping in free. I've had great luck buying from members here. Getting great deals on like new stuff every time. Hell I bought an 07 883KL with 122 miles on it with a windsheild to boot for 6600. I love this place theres a lottsa good folks here that are willing to help answer any questions.
can i drive a solid rod through my stock mufflers (knocking out the baffles)and run that for 200miles or so and see if i want to go loud or not.will this hurt my engine at all?thanks Zach
07 runs lean like the others have said... If this is your plan, you really need to get some kind of tuner and an better air intake to richen that bike up... From what I can tell, they all work pretty close to the same in terms of performance. It is a matter of preference. On the tuning, lots of guys swear by the PCiii, I chose the SERT with the dyno tuning. But I agree witht the others, $2100 is way too much. I paid $500 for my Rineharts and did a 103cistage2 with the air cleaner installed and tuning included for about $2100.
If I were on a budget or wanted to get the biggest bang for the dollar, i'd put on a set of Rinehart Slip ons (best style and sound around) and change the air breather for somethine like a Ness or Screamin Eagle, then get a decent tuner. I'd spend more the tuner cause a good tuner (such as DTT and Thundermax Auto Tuners) allow you to tune and tweak the bike yourself by logging in with a laptop or PC. Now you can ride a while, add some more upgrades such as cams, cylinders, or heads down the road and your tuner will allow you to make changes for the upgrades without the need to have your bike professionally tuned or mapped like a SERT.
Read up on the forums here. take your time and don't rush. Last thing i'd say is tell that dealer you like to be kissed before they try F***ing you like they did. That's out of line with that number of 2100.00. Maybe 1400 would be more in line including a sert and dyno time.
6 hours for a tuner? Man oh man!!
**** down my back and tell me it's rainin'!!!
Move to another dealer, before he gets you.
Do not go back, ever again for anything..
ok guys,i am seeing more and more of guys on here doing the headers with slip-on's or just slip-on's a/c of there choice, and either sert or another module of there choice, why does MY dealer tell me that i need headers(for better flow and more accurate tuning)what ever slip-on's i want,SE a/c,sert(has more tuning #'s) and 6hrs of dyno time for a whopping 2100.00 including tax? help please what do i do.thanks.Zach
Your dealer is steering you in order to make more money. As suggested above, find another dealer.

i have heard that the mufflers on the 07s are not equal. because of the crossover, the left muffler is more of an 'echo chamber' while most of the exhaust goes through the right muffler. can't swear to this though, but have heard it in several different places.
