I ordered mine through Drag Specialties. See if Eastern Performance or Mark at MandMcycles can get it for you.Better yet, see if Bart(shooter64) can get one through Drag. I haven't seen him around lately though.
I'm stoked about getting mine and wish it would hurry and get here!
Fits '99-later Twin Cam models equipped with Screamin' EagleÂŽ Stage Kits or High Flow Air Cleaner Assembly (except '08 Touring models). '08 DynaÂŽ models require separate purchase of Stage One Air Cleaner Kit P/N 29773-02C.
I called Doherty and the filter is supposedly 2½" thick so I hope this one works.
Dalton, can you confirm thismeasurement of filter thickness?
Do you have anypics of your A/C cover on your bike from the side? I'd like to get a better visual if possible of how this smooth is going to flow with the diamond cut cylinders and heads.
2-1/2" thick, 5-3/4" diameter on the outer edge, 6" diameter on the inner edge.
Thanks Dalton! A friend of mine is going to let me borrow his smooth one without having to buy one until I make up my mind on which cover to actually go with. Hard decision because I like the way you have yours done but fear taking H²0 in the intake if I get caught in a heavy downpour like we did in NE New Mexico this past fall.
As long as the engine is running, any water (rain) that gets in through the filter will be atomized and burnt. If parked overnight in a pouring rain I guess you could get water into the intake, but not sure if it would be enough to cause any issues. Open elements have been run for years and I have never heard of anyone hydraulic locking an engine due to rain. I will be carrying a "shower cap" with me so that if I do park overnight and rain is expected, I can cover it but for the most part I am not going to worry about it.
Nice job of documenting the installation. I recently installed a PowerPACC on my '04 FLHRCI and couldn't be happier. I also worried about rain, to the point of buying a rubber shower cap to place over the A/C. To be honest, I've never used it and I've never had a problem, though I do still carry my A/C condum.
