leather jacket??

I shouldn't respond to this because I have already started self medicating today, but.............. Some of you guys need to consider that just because you have found exactly what you are looking for at a price you think is fair doesn't mean it is the best thing in the whole wide world.
I truly believe in my heart that my wife is the best ridin gal for the money spent in the whole wide world, but I would never profess it on the net because one of you jerkoffs would just have to show me that I didn't look long enough before I made the deal..............
My wife, my house, my truck, etc........... I did the best I could with what I had to work with at the time. I don't regret any of my choices and I don't sit around a cry when someone points out that I could've done better and I certainly don't try to show how I made the BEST choice in the whole wide world.
So what's worse anyway? Someone in a pissing match over whose got the toughest leather, or someone like me bored enough to read all about it?
Sorry in advance if I offended any of you. It wasn't my intention. Love your leather man, or love your leatherman. holy crap, I think I just might of started a feud about the best multi-tool on the market..... I gotta stop typing........

You wife your house your truck what!!!!! Please leathers that are not bill boards. Just wondering what is your point?
leicafish,
There was no point intended. I sincerley apologize if it seemed I was taking a shot at you or anyone else as far as that goes. I was trying to make light of a situation that I thought could use a little cold water thrown on it.
I guess I get worked up when I think people are getting too worked up about anything.
Relax, I was just being a sarcastic smart alec. Like I said at the beginning of my last post, I shouldn't have even weighed in, just didn't have the self control to resist.

I was going to type some long drawn out reply but in the end it doesnt matter.
You guys purchased a jacket you love and you paid a high price for it. You will defend that purchase to the death. And I have never said you made a bad purchase only that I can not justify that cost.
At the end of the day EVERYTHING for sale is only worth what someone will pay for it.
You think 1k was a fair price you paid it I dont and I wont. THats the free market.

Just ordered a Classic I from fox creek today. For me nr.1 consideration is Made In USA. After comparing the quality, features & looks of the few American jackets available, I picked the Fox Creek. All of the recommendations here & elsewhere helped me decide. Should have the new jacket next week.
I think we can conclude that there are plenty of inexpensive places online to buy good, quality leather. Thanks for the input. So why on earth would you pay 3-4 times for a Harley jacket?? Not ALL your crap gotta be "Harley"
I chose a"Highway One " . It has a semi classic look with a great map pocket and lots of vents ( leatherdoes'nt helpin a crash unless your wearing it)

Pretty good judge of "plain B.S" are ya Raxus? How about we cruise on over to FC's website and click on mens, then click on "classic 1" then under the brief discription it says "more". click on more, and read what the owner said he was doing in 1953 at age 7. He says he was asking for a classic one. Now, click on home and then click "about us". It seems that the owner didn't start FC until 1970. Now that causes me to ask myself "Is he lying about wanting a classic 1 in 1953" or is he lying about starting the company in 1970. Either way you want it, he is a liar. Would you have any confidence in my word or my products if I gave you a story about riding a Harley in 1886? I didn't think so.
I don't know about you but I don't do business with deceptive advertisers. Besides that, I don't believe those zippers are strong enough to be attached to a motorcycle jacket. But above all, his credibility is in the toilet and he would never sell me anything even if it was good enough.
In contrast, when I ask those guys a question at Langlitz, they say no when they mean no and yes when they mean yes no matter how I want them to answer.
I am sorry if I upset you with the "cheap" thing but thats what I think of guys that attempt to steal designs and then un-engineer the important stuff for bottom line considerations.

Not knocking Langlitz, I know thier products are top notch...but to say that Fox Creek Leathers are cheap is just plain BS. There are many stories on the internet how Fox Creek leathers saved ppl's hide. Not only that but thier product is top notch and have many, many satisfied custormers. Dunno how many here can afford a $1k+ leather jacket, but for those of us who can't Fox Creek Leather is the way to go.
BTW..I am in no way affiliated with Fox Creek Leather..just a very satisfied customer of thier "CHEAP JACKETS"

Ultimately, you have to decide what the mission of the jacket is. If you're looking to protect yourself and your family's welfare, you now know the answer. If however, you just want to look cool, go buy a cheap jacket like Fox Creek or Vanson or H.D.

I think both Langlitz and Fox Creek make quality jackets. Langlitz makes a standard classic motorcycle jacket as well (Columbia), were they the first to produce this model or did they "steal it" as well?
What is the difference between the zippers Langlitz uses and the zippers Fox Creek uses? Having been around both jackets I do not recall a difference.
