Can someone please tell me what this AIR BAFFLE (below triple tree)is designed to do?
Do they work?

Check out this post. There is quite a bit of discussion about the air baffle.

Keeps the wind from coming up under the fairing and hitting you in the chest/chin. Works as advertised on my '06 SG - worth the $23.

They are a stock item on Road Glides; used to be on Electra Glides too, but HD has omitted them for the last five years or so. The black version used on Road Glides is much less expensive--ten bucks or so IIRC. I'm thinking about adding it.

Any piece of chrome less than $50.00 is worth it!
Really, it works well to keep the wind from coming up under the fairing.

Works with my Road King. I also use the Fork deflectors in the winter. Between the two I could light a cigarette at 60, if I smoked.

As posted above, they used to be "standard equipment" on the EG's, but for some reason have become an option. (Differing opinions on that one -- some say it was to increase air flow to the engine -- others say it was to increase cash flow to the MoCo because it is now after-market...) I found that it keeps the wind from coming up between the fairing and the gas tank and reduces buffeting. No realy issues with the air flow to the engine.

Hope that helps!
