Run a tap through the holes before installing the baffle to remove the powder coating or you'll end up breaking the bolts.

It works, I run mine in the winter when I want less draft behind the fairing and then take it off in the summer for a little more airflow. A dealer told me they stopped putting them on the touring bikes as the engine temps got hotter, trying to get more air to the rider in summer. I think they just leave them off so you can spend some more dollars at the parts counter than you had to before.

Didn't do chit for me. Can't tell the difference when I put it on or take it off.

Seems kind of backwards, the hotter the engine the more I would think they would need the baffle to cool it.
It does work in any event.

I put one on my 07 SG and it reduced the wind coming up behind the windshield. I also think it puts more air on the engine. I bought the black one that comes stock on the road glide. It's less conspicuousand the 3 bolts do no come with it, And don't forget to chase the threads with a tap or you will need more bolts! Don't ask me how I know....

I just bought one of these and installed it the other day regardless of what it says in the service manual, it reads:

"Note: By allowing the flow of air to pass under the fuel tank and over the cylinder heads, removing the air dam evacuates heated air and provides some relief to the rider in warmer temperatures: 70F (21C) or above."

Sounds kind of confusing but this may be why they eliminated it.

Works with my Road King. I also use the Fork deflectors in the winter. Between the two I could light a cigarette at 60, if I smoked.
You need a fairing! I smoke behind mine at 80 all the time. I didn't even know this was an issue
