I use 3 different computers this site loads the slowest of any site that I tend to vist on all 3.But I enjoy the site but agree it probably is due for a server upgrade. There is a lot of pictures on the site I thought that this may have something to do with how fast it loads?

I use Mozilla Firefox and things are fast.

BUt there is something else that I do that really speeds up my computer. I stop the "background running" programs. Here's how to do it:

Go to Start
Click on Run
Type in "msconfig", hit OK
Go to folder on the right (Startup) and click on it
At the bottom click on "Disable all", Apply, OK
Then it wll prompt either "Restart" or "Exit without Restart"
If you have time, do the "Restart" or else you'll be doing these steps each time you want to speed up your computer. I continually check to see if any background programs have turned themselves back on - it happens.

Doing this with the "restart" folder doesn't effect the booting up of the computer, it just lets you control what runs in the background - bottom line - programs running in the background slow your computer down. Don't fool with any other folders unless you know what you're doing.

Hack

This forum blazes for me. Just a click a link, bam its open right away.

The number one thing to improve speed is to dump Internet Exploder and start using Firefox or Slimbrowser.
Im with you Kern. Firefox on this end with no problems.
I am also with you.. Firefox... and lightning quick.. Faster than my eBay movement between pages etc.!!!

Now that you have firefox download ADBLOCK PLUS,and NO SCRIPT it will speed up every thing, you will have to allow all the scripts you want when you see the bar at the bottom of the screen though.
