Thanks everyone for the info. Rode today and best as I can figure the speedo is off about 3 MPH with the 30 tooth sproket. Not sure that its worth a $100 to fix it but probably will. I did try to find Rev Tech by way of Google without any luck. The Dakota fix sounds good but as mentioned the plug in location needs to be determined. Hope I don't get the same answer regarding plugging it in before the computer. These 08's are very busy once you get under the seat speaking from experience when installing the tach. Oh the good news is gearing her downis definitely a good thing.....much more fun and kinda like a five speed without that old feeling where your looking for that extra gear that isn't there on the interstate.

Before the computer is between the speed sensor on the trans and the ECM. There's a plug in that line that you disconnect and it goes inline there. Just follow the wire from the speed sensor that is located just about under the starter on the 07's or a little more outboard on the previous models. They have the plugs attached when you buy the unit and it just plugs in.
Thanks. I'll try to locate that plug and go from there.
Update: With help from some images I found on HDTalking, so I knew what I was looking for, I finally found the speed sensor attach point on the transmission.
It's been moved on the '08 UC from where it was on earlier models. Previously, it was easily seen on the top right side of the transmission. On my '08, it's moved way over to the left side, underneath about the middle point of the starter. It's well hidden, and pretty much takes a flashlight to find it.
Wiring from it goes over to the right side frame member where it joins two other wire bundles (neutral safety switch and rear O2 sensor), disappears inside a plastic conduit, and the whole thing disappears into the frame up under the seat. I removed the seat to look for a connector where the Dakota Digital speedo calibrator might connect, but failed to find what I was looking for. There are a couple of connectors visible under the seat, but not this one, and I didn't have the stomach to tear all the neatly routed wire bundles apart looking for it. Maybe some other time.
