Have the upgrade on my 2003 Ultra. $850. in parts alone. Yes, to me it is worth it. Very, very smooth. The chrome master on the bars is also very cool.
The hydraulic clutch came on my 07 CVO Ultra. Took some getting used to as I have always had a cable clutch. The engagement (or disengagement) is very positive, but engages as soon as you start to release the lever. Have been told that it is not adjustable. Am used to it now, very positive feel.
Its like slicing butter with a hot knife - very smooth. There are no "high or low" spots when engaging or releasing the clutch. It is equal throughout - if you know what I mean. Of course the effort is reduced - a big relief in stop and go traffic. There is no cable to adjust but you have to change the hydro fluid periodically. I put one on an 05 Road King. I don't think I would spend the $ on one that has the reduced effort clutch. I think that was '07 & up.
I have it on my 07 SE Ultra, works ok, but all the later models, I think yours included have a reduced effort clutch pak, if it was an option I wouldn't have it.
Cannot say if it worth the cost as it is standard on my 06 SE Ultra, however there are some pro's and con's.
As rotrager says, it takes some getting used to as the clutch engages/disengages when the lever is very close to the bars. Clutch action is very smooth.
Matching clutch & brakemaster cylinderslook good, but it is more difficult to mount GPS/cell phone/etc on the bars as themaster cylinder takes up a lot of space.
