Had a good friend which had one bag come off, like he said....it was his faultfor not checking it before he left. Long story short about $300 to get it repaired and painted and all is good now.I have removed my quick release pins and now they are bolted on....no worries.
Almost...first trip over to my buddies after picking up the bike. He came out and said WTF and pointed at the back of the bike. Bag was kicked up out of position. The bolt on theright side that holds the bracket for the bag and the seat strap was gone. Went over the rest of the nuts and bolts and all the fasteners for the detachable gear was only finger tight. Guess the tech was preoccupied that day.
Unfortunately, yes. The bride just had her RK custom painted and a month before the big trip out West the right bag took flight on I-81 at 70mph. Asphalt did a number on it, but not nearly like the sudden stop from guard rail.
seen it happen to the same guy about three times before someone showwed him how to twist the locks correctly, it have never fallen off since, my best bet is the tech ?????????? didnt twist them in right when he installed the detach hardware, , anyway, its going to be ahrd fight with the dealer, unlikely they will admit to effing up...............
You know when I secure the 2 pins on my saddlebags I always wonder if they're gonna hold. I always double check em thinking...man this is all that's holding these things. Is there anything that you can put on to secure em better?
I think if the lock pins were not installed correctly at the dealer, it would have fallen off within a mile or two of the dealer. I would be willing to bet your friend had removed one or both bags, and just did not get the lock pin installed correctly when putting it back on.....???? I dont know I was not there......but I bet the dealer is not going pay full freight on this f-up. If its a real good dealer, they may give the guy a new bag at dealer cost....if they are in a good mood that day.

You might have to trade em your sister for it. (if she's decent lookin)
