Default Need help with mounting a camera

I bought an Oregon Scientific ATC-2k video camera for my bike and I need some ideas on where to mount it. It come with a handlebar mount and there really isn't a good place on my bars to mount it. Either cables are in the way or the windshield or it puts it at a weird angle. The handlebar clamp is too small to mount on the crash bar and too big to mount on anywhere on the rear of the bike. Has anyone here mounted the kind of camera i'm talking about? ideas are welcome. thanks.

Saw one similar to that at the bike show last month.......the guy had it mounted on an aluminium pole, probably
1 1/2", on the back of the bike. I can't recall if it came up off of the luggage rack or if he had a trailer hitch setup that he had it hooked to as I just glanced at it as I walked by. Maybe one of the PGR guys has a photo of what they do to mount the large flags on their bikes, to give you an idea.

We just use a helmet cam (about the size of a highlighter)hooked to a digital 8 camera, that we put in the saddle bag

My handlebars vibrate way too much to mount a camera!
I saw a really good video posted here by a guy that mounted his camera to his front fender using duct tape. He said as long as the tape is removed the same day it all came right off! I have been temped to try it but have not yet.

This is a link to a couple of videos I made with my camcorder mounted on my handlebars for some shots. Other shots from the bike where the camera is aimed at the front wheel were made with my future wife holding the camera 3' to the side using a monopod. Bike I used in the videos is my 2004 Softail. As you can see I did get some vibration issues.

For short rides I have mounted it to the front fork. I have an adapter that holds a light and screws into the camera - but it fits perfectly as a camera mount. I zip tie it to the fork. I have the same bike as you and I can tell you there is no vibration at the forks. Next time your riding reach down and put your hand on the forks.
I know people have mounted cameras on top of old helmets too.

I used a RAM mount, but it still vibrates off the handlebars. Where did you get the camera from and how/what does it record to? Been trying to figure out a good system for making videos. Thanks for the info. Cycle Gadgets, out of Arkansa sells the RAM mounts.
