I guess all the Prostock guys need zoomies then. And F1 and Indycar and list goes on. Sorry, a collectored header system will outperform a 1 pipe per cylinder system every time but maybe some out there think they know more than the best racing engineers in the world.

I seriously doubt that if two identical bikes had a Fat Cat on one and true duals on the other, that the one with true duals would win in a drag race. Even if duals gave you more top end h.p. that grunt is what makes you accelerate, and dragging is about acceleration. You're only at top r.p.m. for a split second and you shift back to bigger torque again. I switched from true duals on a 103 Streetgled to a Fat Cat. The dyno showed a 10 h.p. increase and only about 2 ft. lbs. torque. The improvement in throttle response was fantastic. On a trip with the duals I couldn't get much more than 115 out of it. With the Fat Cat while passing two semis in Arizona I hit 115 and wasn't even at full throttle with the Cat. Believe what you want. Me I will never run duals again. The 2 into 1 made my bike more fun to ride because it's throttle response is way better.

We're all trying to get to the same place, which is a balance between looks, sounds and performance. And unless we first define what "performance" is, a discussion of which is better performing is just random noodling. Comparing dyno sheets doesn't necessarily tell us which bike will be faster on the street, and torque dips are frequently not even felt sop.

I can tell you in no uncertain terms that the Fatcat was far more responsive than the 2:1:2 is, and that even a leper would be able to feel a 10 ft-lb dip at 3,000rpm.

That's not a knock on my new Jackpot setup either. It's far quieter than the Fatcat, and that's my priority at the moment. But damn I miss the immediacy of the power delivery with the Fatcat.

As far as performance, yeah, you do loose al ittle with true duals, but unless you are drag racing and need that extra .00 something, you won't notice that big of a difference as long as the bike is tuned properly.
So you say you lose a little performance with true duals. By that do you mean versus a 2 into 1 system? I'm ready to spring for a new exhaust, but I don't want anything that is going to decrease my performance vs STOCK setup. If the true duals offer a performance loss vs stock, then I guess my decision is made for me to go with 2 into 1. Can anyone give me a definitive answer to this?

If you install a quality set of true duals such as Rineharts you will improve your performance over stock marginally. Now if you do a SEac and download you'll notice a real difference. Dont believe the hype that you'll gain 10 hp.....you wont. Or at least i didn't. BUT......it'll definitely sound and look better.

Ok, its just a 1340, ev27 cam /stock lifters , s&S E-shorty /with thunderjet / dyna single fire / thunderheaders. 67hp / 76 tq. It's not for drag, it's got all I need for 2-up, or solo. It's cold blooded as hell and not set up for bar hopp'n.
Set it up for your kind of ride'n, and look, I'll post the before and after dyno run charts .

Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner and a download is when the dealer upgrades your ecm without a add on tuner.
