Default SERT QUESTION

Not knowing to much about the SERT install, my question is this:
Does installing the SERT lower the fuel ratio from 14.7:1 down to 14.2:1?
Or is something else needed?
thanks,
Frank

You need to find a calibration for your particular setup and modify it to lower the fuel ratio to your desires. If your setup (pipes, engine modes, etc) vary from HD parts then you will likely need a dyno tune to dial it in properly. Your best bet would be to get a copy of the tuning guide for the SERT and read it about 27 times to determine what you need to do. Someone will soon weigh in and tell you were to find the PDF file that contains the SERT instructions...

I'd still recommend a dyno tune. With all you have invested in the bike and a stage-1 upgrade why not spend a couple hundred more to get it done right?

You just max out all the blocks in the "closed loop bias table". This will bring down the AFR to what your looking for when the bike is operating in the closed loop mode. After doing this my plugs went from a snow white color to a nice light tan. The inside of my mufflers also darkened up

It is part of the software when you load SERT in. All depends on what add-ons you are running. First you need a base map and then in advance mode you max out the CLB tables on both cylinders that will bring the afr around 14.1 with nothing else to bedone. If you are computer savy and want to save on consistant dyno tunes, you can purchase a twin scan II+ with wego sensors that can measure you afrs at diffrent throttle positions, and will help you set up your VE tables on the SERT software. The cost of the twinscan is around what 1 dyno session would be, plus you can adjust for any future changes you may or may not think of.

The reson I'm asking is that I recently bought the '08 Ultra and had the stage 1 kit, Rush slip ons installed as well as the SERT (dealer talked me into this one). I also paid for the DYNO tune at the 1000 mile service (again they recommend riding it for that time first before tuning it).
I'm just hoping by me paying all this extra money, that the heat issue should be better as well as the preformance of the bike.
Again any comments are appreciated.
Frank

That should take care of it. I rode mine stock until the 1k service, then did the stage-1 upgrade with SERT and a dyno tune....bike runs way better (not that it was bad before), and cooler too.
