Just curious... you mentioned that you have money down on the '07 Ultra. Congrats!
Do you know if the IDS has been added to this bike? You didn't mention if you are buying from a dealer or an individual, but you might want to look into having the IDS installed if it's not already there. If you are purchasing from a dealer, you could have them install it and get them to do it for free or reduced cost as part of the "deal".

first and fifth gears are straight cut, not helical cut therefore they make a little more noise. Why H D did this is another question.

Hd would NOT of produced it, made it standard on 08's and a retro fit to 07's, with an incentive
to buy it (elbow grease program) if there wasn't a problem!
HD could not have the problem exist for two model years. It would have hurt sales bad.
They don't have the ***** or honesty to stand up and admit that yes there was a noise problem
in the tranny and give you guys a FREE repair.
Nope they spin doctored it around, that the way you rode the bike you were creating the problem.
They knew you were all a bunch of lazy, no backbone panzies and that you would actually PURCHASE the product and they would make more money off you!
Well now you got it.
But HD isn't the only corp that does this.
