I hauled mine to florida and back last fall. I put a pair of tiedowns on the engine guards, just above where my highway pegs attach.I puta second set of tiedowns on thepassenger floorboard brackets.
Heres another option that works for me. I use 18" straps with loops on both ends. I put them over the handlebars but under the cables and wires, letting them hang in the fairing. I use regular straps to secure them to my lift or trailer. In my open trailer, I hook the straps to the hole in the frame under the seat. The bike is going nowhere....
