Dealer Changed His Tune..
During bike week I heard lots of people sitting on their porch, where the run was to start, talking about how they'll never go back there again for service, or to buy a bike again, cause that dealerwon't honor the service/warranty agreement.
One of the other dealerships is smart enough to pick up the warranty and take the customer right away from them.
I hear the money is in the service afterward, so the dealership that is chasing them away is really burning themself. Nobody will be dealing with them for parts and/or service, and eventually sales, and the other guy is just raking it in, and getting all the good publicity.
I wonder how much longer they'll stay in business, or more to how soon they'll fold cause of the shi++y service department. The sales people can be nice and friendly, but the service dept lead tech is an as$hole and ruins if for the rest of his team, and the way I see it is if the owner wants to let him stay and run it that way, then he's the chief problem for all of his team. I won't deal with them anymore. I'll ride 20 miles to the guys I get along with for a $5 part (yes, contrary to hd meaning hundreds of dollars, there really are some inexpensive parts you can buy there[:-]
).These guys better change not only their tune, but there instruments and arranger also.
But when you catch them red handed padding the bill, then I get upset and I'm not
quiet about it.
I've found most dealer don't give a damn what you think of their pricing, because they know another fool is coming in behind you and will pay their bloated pricing.
I wanted to do big bore and cams on my 06 EGC this winter.
His pricing was $600 higher than Zanottis for parts.
Told him bring the price down some on the parts and he could do the whole job this winter.
He refused, so he lost the whole $3600 for the job.
He didn't care.
But if more people would do this, then the prices might come down for all of us.

I got results and a follow up from a nice lady in HD. She called the dealer and then called me back when I was on my way to pick up my bike.
