OK...now let's fess up....

Who among you (like myself), never get the rain gear on before getting soaked because you keep riding and hoping "maybe it'll stop"....and it never does?

Got raingear, only used it once. I knew the rain was between me and where I was going (Jekyll Island for the 2006 Ga HOG Rally - bought the rain gear that morning). Rode in the rain for 5 hours. Only thing got wet was the top of my chest, neck and my face - still only have a half-helmet, but I got a modular on order, should be here next week). My glasses got wet on both sides - couldn't see worth a flip. Remembered I had clear goggles in the sidecar trunk. Found me a shelter, got under it, put on the goggles and wow, what a difference. Those goggles REALLY worked.

If it looks like rain, I don't ride. I hate getting somewhere and being wet. I don't care if I get rained on going home. And warm shower, dry clothes and I good. Usually I don't fool with the rain gear.

Now, when I make my ride to Texas in the end of Mar, I'm definitely packing it.

I worked on the electronics in the Cobra and flew observer / gunner
in Nam.
I know a little off topic for the forum

But I keep watch on horizon, and know most of the roads here.
Never have come back from Torrington on us 85 without the rain hitting between
Yoder and the rest stop about 20 miles farther down road.
I see people all the time think they can beat it or think it has already past the road.
Last year was one of the worst though. We were at the rest stop just in time.
About 2 minutes and it hit with a fury.
Wind picked one bike up and laid it over 10 feet away.
about 25 people turned around and came back (didn't believe me to stay and wait it out).

Usually put the rain gear on before it starts... Then sweat my azz off and the rain blows over. Go figure...
