Oddessy (sp?) is supposed to be a great brand, but you pay almost double the stock OEM battery. I've been lucky with my (knock on wood), and have my stock battery still, it'll be 3 years now in March (so I'm sure it's about to die!) I've kept it on a battery tender quite a bit though.
The HD battery is hard to beat. I replaced the one in my 2000 at 5 years/52k miles out of paranoia. It still passes a load test. I keep it around the garage for a jump start battery.
batteries are one of those things that hd is actually a bargain on. they run about the same price as a battery from walmart (with same 12 month warranty) but the fit is better, and is agm vs 'wet'....
oh, the original battery in my sportster just died last month. i bought it in june of 02..... never used a battery tender on it either.
GENERALLY HD BATTERIES ARE JUNK.. WHEN THEY GO (APPROX 2 TO 3 YEARS DEPENDING ON HOW WELL U TAKE CARE OF THEM) I GO FOR A DIEHARD FROM SEARS.. LESS EXPENSIVE AND IMO A MUCH BETTER BATTERY..(MUCH LONGER LIFE) THAT SAID MY 03 ULTRA ( DELEVERED 11-02) STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL BATT ????!!!
