I looked at Panoptx just the other day at a Bike Show. Very glad I did (having only looked at specs at online stores). My assumption was the expensive ones would be "solid", "sturdy", etc, but no. They were flimsy plastic (frames) and just did not impress me for a mid to high $100 price tag (and that was the "low end" scrips - no options like balistic, transition, etc.).
I'm on my second pair of PanOptix. I got the last set from SportRx. They are prescription with transistion lenses. I'm very happy with them. They get dark enough for me, but that's a personal preference. SportRx.com is a great place to purchase. I considered Wyle, but couldn't find a frame that fit as well as the Pan's did. Both are good quality in my opinion.
BTW - Still have my first set of Pan's, reason I replaced them is because I finally got my eyes checked and found out I needed a prescription. The first set is still in good condition.
http://www.icicleseyewear.com/site/p...3F4DE3B1FD6366best sunglasses i have found for wind protection if ya don't want the foam. i also have panoptics day/night but only use them in the rain or at night cause they just don't block much sun. also have a couple of pairs of the http://www.thebestmcglasses.com and they are pretty good for $15 but not worth much more.....
just bought a pair of oakley nano's . you can crunch-em up and the titaniom fiber frame just bounces back(I didnt try it),polorized and edges block glare, also used by the military in Iraq.
I've had Panoptx for 4 years now. The transitional ones. Nice thing about them was I scratched the lense and the foam was wearing a bit.... Took them into the dealership and for $80 Canadian I had them back with new lenses and foam in 3 weeks. I'm happy with them.
Wiley X - Bought them online with a perscription. Check out their website and then call them up and have them send you a bunch of frames that you like the look of to try on - you will have to pay for them but they credit you back when you send them back to them. All in,ended upbeing about half the price of the same glasses through a HD dealership or optician.
I have the Pantoptx with prescription transitions. They get darker than the Pantoptx lenses but not real dark. I keep spending my Lasik money on chrome.
