Chrome Caliper install

I recently purchased a set of the chrome calipers from Southern Cycle that is advertised here on the forum. The calipers are fantastic looking and IMO look much better then the Harley calipers. My question is has anyone else installed these on their bike yet? A well respected mechanic friend of mine looked at them....and by the way he was impressed with the calipers and thier looks....but he said that it appears to him that due to design difference that the front tire will have to come off to get enough clearance to intall the new caliper...I guess removing the tire is not a problem...just a step I was not expecting!

Front wheel must be on for caliper install. Are you sure he's a mechanic?

I would contact the person you bought them from with any questions or concerns. I do not think it's possible to do it the way your friend said.
