Plastic bottles work O.K., but eGlideGoodies is excellant site. They have a tray and oil filter/oil plug wrench, I bought works great also. Such some spray brake cleaner to clean up after around frame area.
I have a trick that works great on my FLHRCI. Go to Walmart or anywhere they have kitchen supply stuff. I bought one of those thin flexible cutting boards (they are like a heavy flexible plastic). I just trimmed it a little and it slips right under the filter and then wraps around some. Then the oil just drains down right near the left floorboard. Works like a champ and no oil mess at all.
i've always used the 2 liter in the past, today i used the oil filter box with the four sides unfolded and tabs taken off with the cardbord extending past the oil filter. im sold on this idea i did not spill a drop of oil, it funneled all the oil into my oil pan.
The pop bottle idea sounds great. Another trick I have pulled is to use half of a file folder since it will bend easier than cardboard. Just a thought.

I have to use soda bottles here. There's no such thing as pop where I come from. <grin>
YB
I took a plastic place mat from the table and cut it just before the floorboard in length after pushing it all the way up to the filter adapter.
The oil drains into a pan placed under the kickstand. Works like a champ. The only drawback is, you may wind up pissin' off the ol'l lady. LOL
