Don't wait for the "check engine" light to go out before starting, & set your 0 & 100% throttle positions. Let us know if that helps............

Someone explained it quite well in a post within the last couple days. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you page down and look for anything close to the subject.

Ican't explain it as well as it has been done in the past, it has to do with the fact that if you let the engine light cycle through, the PCIII will also re-cycle immediately after the engine light does. This causes a slight delay, usually about 2-3 engine revolutions, before the spark and timing signals are sent for the engine to fire.

With the PCIII installed, you can bypass this without any damage to the engine or the system and start immediately upon hitting the run button. Also, with the PCIII installed, the injectors are pre-loaded and ready to fire immediately. That is also where you are probably getting your backfiring through the AC, from the intake loading up.

A couple members on here, like iclick or cegusa, can probably explain it better. As well as talking to Jaime, or Keith (?), at Fuelmoto.

I just turn on my ign. Hit my run button, and immediately hit my start button. It fires and starts on the first or secondturnover without problem. This did take me a little bit to get used to.

Side note on the '08, I have heard that the throttle position(0% & 100%) does not need to be set separately for these particular bikes. I think it has to do with the new fly by wire. Others on here can confirm or rebut this.

Congrats.
