Default Dealer vs. Indy Shop

Hi All! When I pick up my new 08SG I plan on having the installation of the upgrades completed. Rhinehart td., sert, seac,21/18 billet wheels, pegs, footboards, lower fairings, aux. lights, cc solo seat. 1'lowered front, powdercoated forks and aux. lights, trim rings front/ rear. I am self employed ,I fabricate prosthetic devices,I work alot of hours. So any spare time I have I'd rather be ridin than wrenchin. My ques. is should I have the dealer do the install or an independent shop? I'm a first time rider ,probably ripe for the pickin'. My plan is to list all these items and have my salesman (he is the sales mgr.) give me a labor quote for the install. Then do the same at an indy shop. If I have the indy do the install does that affect the warranty? Also how many hours of install am I looking at roughly? It's 60.00 per. I wanted to ask you guys before I talk to the dealer. Just to let you know my price is 21,000.00 total for 08SG w/ sec., cruise, vivid black does that sound about right? I'm in Cleveland, Oh. Thanks for your help.

First of all.... Welcome and Congrats! You chose an awesome bike. If it was me I would have the Dealer install them, then the add-ons will get the same warranty as the bike.As far as thelabor, you should be able to get them to maybe wave most if not all of it. JMHO.

Takecare and ride safe.

You can go to independent to have those items installed no problem. You can actually have your engine and mechanical parts worked on by your indy as well. Not only will it probably save you money but a lot of time as well. Near my house in the summer guys are waiting 1-1/2 months to get their bikes to the dealer for service. When I called the extended warranty number on the back of the card they said I can take it anywhere I want, including a indy just keep documentation like reciepts and stuff like that.
