Winter gloves in the winter and summer gloves in the summer. Fingerless are worthless if you go down.

Fingerless in the summer and gauntlets when it is cool. And fingerless gloves do offer protection if you go down. Happened to me and the palms of the gloves were damaged but not my hands. Try falling down in the grass just for the hell of it and I bet you do not land on your fingers.
