I've got the battery powered one and while the batteries last quite a while I'm think about getting the rechargeable one

I have both...get the rechargeable. You'll never have to wonder if your batteries are going to die when you are using your security pager.

I'd go with the battery one. They last a long time, especially if you turn it off when not needed. And the batteries are less than $2. Rechargeable ones are a pain and won't last as long. You will always get the same run time out of a lithium one but the rechargable will just get shorter and shorter as it is cycled. JMO.

Go with the rechargeable, I wish I did. If you dont turn it off it its up the battery too fast.

I didn't even know they had a rechargable one, I guess I have the battery version and I remember it stating to be sure to turn it off when not used. How long does it take to charge the rechargable? How long does it last? How large is the charger? It might be easier to just stop at the nearest Walmart and pickup a couple batteries instead of hauling a charger around.

[sm=exactly.gif]I just carry an extra battery in my windshield pouch but I have never had to use it and just change it when it starts getting weak and then buy another one. If you forget to recharge the rechargeable one then you are SOL until you can charge it.

That is a GREAT idea, carrying a extra battery in the bike. I have to figure out the battery size and get a spare now.

I bought one of the AA battery based cell phone chargers, cause I noticed if I leave home without it fully charged, and get into some of the areas where it switches to analog mode, it drains the battery quickly and I'm stuck! With the "AA" based charger, I plug it into my phone and toss it in the windshield bag and its charged in 20-30 minutes.

I also tossed a cheap digital camera in the saddlebags, to have it when I come across some really scenic areas. Most of the time I pull it out the and darn rechargable battery is dead and I can't use it. I have an old AA based digital camera in my bag, and I'll use that until I get an adapter made for my battery powered cell phone charger, or pickup a trailer to haul all those chargers with me

I've been toying about getting a 12v power adapter (cigarette lighter) and I've been waiting for formotion to get thier new version completed.

I have the battery/ non-recharge model only because I don't use it too often. Mainly only when I take trips..
I would probably have the rechargeable if I used it every day.
